Respiration in plants
*Plants exchange gases through stomata present in leaves.
*The large inter-cellular spaces ensure that the cells are in contact with air.
*Carbon dioxide and oxygen are exchanged in and out of the cells by the process of diffusion.
*During night, in the absence of sunlight, photosynthesis do not take place and hence carbon dioxide is released by plants.
*The carbon dioxide released by humans is used by the plants for photosynthesis.
*Oxygen is released instead of carbon dioxide during the day by photosynthesis.
